  • How does a picnic work?
    1. BOOK- First, you'll request a picnic location, date, and time through the link on our profile and submit a $50 deposit. Then, we'll confirm with you through email and send you an invoice for paying your balance. 2. PICNIC- We will start setting up at your picnic location an hour before your event start time. If you are having an outdoor picnic at a public location, we will call or send you a text message with the exact location of your picnic. We will stay with your picnic until you arrive. Then, you'll arrive at your picnic and enjoy! 3. LEAVE CLEANUP TO US- When your scheduled picnic time is over, we will meet back up with you and take care of the clean up. If you decide to leave your picnic early, please send us a text message so that we may meet you before you leave the picnic.
  • What is included?
    We include everything you'll need for an amazing picnic: Picnic Set-Up: table, blankets, pillows, umbrella (teepee for indoor picnics) Decor: table decor based on your theme, flameless candles, picnic basket, lanterns Tableware: dinner plates, appetizer plates, water glasses, wine glasses, forks, knives, napkins Extras: water, bluetooth radio, customized letter board Dedicated picnic stylist to coordinate your picnic and assist with anything you may need during your picnic! Food is not included in our picnic pricing. You are more than welcome to bring your own food, or we can help coordinate delivery from one of our recommended vendors.
  • How do I book a picnic?
    Use the "Book a Picnic" button above to fill out our request form and submit a $50 deposit to request a picnic. Your picnic is not reserved until you receive a confirmation email from Newport Picnic Co. that will secure your date and time. Bookings are subject to availability and we will try to make your date, time, and location work to the best of our abilities. If we are unable to complete your booking we will refund your $50 deposit.
  • Where can I have a picnic?
    You may have a picnic at any private residence that you have access to and permission to use. Public beaches and parks require permits for businesses to setup on-location. We are currently permitted to use the following locations: Newport, RI: Brenton Point State Park Bristol, RI: Colt State Park Warwick, RI: Goddard Memorial State Park Lincoln, RI: Lincoln Woods State Park If you have another location or venue in mind, please reach out and ask! We have set up at restaurants, hotels, and other venues in the past. A travel fee may apply to picnics outside of the Newport, RI area.
  • Do you provide food?
    We do not directly provide a catering service. Check out some of our recommended vendors for some great choices for food in the area! You may also bring your own food and drinks to the picnic or have something delivered! Pizza and sandwiches from a local shop are always great picnic options.
  • Can I bring alcohol to the parks?
    It is the client's responsibility to look up any alcohol regulations for the event's location. The Rhode Island Parks Department does not allow alcohol consumption at public parks. Newport Picnic Co. does not provide any alcohol and is not responsible for any alcohol use during events.
  • What is your cancellation and rain policy?
    If you cancel your booking more than 14 days before the picnic date we will refund any partial booking fees and the $50 deposit. Bookings cancelled for reasons other than bad/severe weather within 14 days of the picnic date will forfeit the $50 deposit and 25% of the total booking fee. In the event of inclement weather Newport Picnic Co. reserves the right to refuse to set up any event. We cannot set up if there is a reasonable chance for rain due to potential damage to our items. If the weather forecast predicts inclement weather for your picnic date, please contact us 48 hours in advance to discuss your options. We may be able to set up indoors if you have an available location or reschedule your picnic. Bookings which are paid in full that require cancelation due to inclement weather can be rescheduled within a 6 month period. We can also refund your total booking fee if we must cancel due to weather. Rescheduled dates are subject to availability.
